Talent photography is an artform in the right hands, art inspired by timeless grace and inventive modernity. Rather than mere fashion, Studio Paris shoots for something both classical and previously unseen, with big nods to a sharp design aesthetic and a certain independent musicality. Way beyond pretty. From their very Parisian arcade loft, Studio Paris creates talent portfolios for the all the usuals - men, women, groups, hair, etc - but they do so with a style literate panache that eschews the so-so makeover in favour of character. Sure, these are models but here too they are human beings; glamorous, moody, vulnerable, mysterious and, yeah, sexy too. It's no small feat to take a straight model shoot to a higher level. Profile "... so yeah, I come from this graphic design, IT, creative arts, education background but, y'know, I've always had a lens around my neck, so for me Studio Paris is really an extension of my love for photography, design and style. But y'know, you have to like people to shoot talent, you have to see character inside them, the many sides to their persona, and if you can help them bring that out you get shots that really showcase their versatility, Y'know, and that's very useful in the marketplace. If you ask about my style, well yeah, it is a little Paris but I also draw inspiration from guys like Richard Avedon and the deconstructed fashion looks of Jacques Olivar. I'm also influenced by good design and even by totally non-visual things like music ...even good food and wine. That's my aesthetic, I suppose. Y'know, it's not makeover, It's not 'make you a movie star' or shopping or shopping mall competitions kinda stuff. Models beware! That is strictly non-industry. Genuine talent photograpy is exactly what it means. Authentic personal photographs of you for agency representation. I don't break out the tulle or fluffy backdrop and try to second guess what's hot this five minutes. Style is the key word here. Not my style necessarily but the true essential style of the model, something that makes them stand apart. I'm always shooting for that little magic inside ... " |
